tooth.

thinks
that

rock

be
a
fossil
that
once
belonged
to
a
Megalodon
Shark
or
–
dare
I
say
–
the
tooth
of
an
ancient
dragon.
So
begins
an
adventure
that
leads
Billy
to
a
great
and
valuable
discovery
with
a
dark
history.

has
found

anything, even kill, to get it.

Some
scientists
knew
they
could
avert
destruction
by
an
undetermined
number
of
asteroids
careening
unimpeded
toward
a
small
but
very
special
planet
earth
if
they
could
get
accurate
information
on

size,
speed,
and
trajectory
of

rocks
that
were
most
likely
to
strike.
That
was
seemingly
an
impossible
task
given
all
those
pesky
rules
about

speed
of
light.
By
the
time
they
got
that
information,
it
would
be
too
late
to
do
anything
about
any
of
it.
The
biomes
would
be
launched
to
a
dozen
far-flung
planets.
Everyone
else
would
simply
have
to
tuck
their
heads
and
kiss
all
parts
of
their
anatomy goodbye. It was Jayne Wu's job to get that information.
The Owl Who Thought He Was A Mouse
On
a
very
stormy
thunder-filled
night,
an
owl
was
born
in
an
old
raven’s
nest
in
the
big
tree
overlooking
the
farm
yard.
Suddenly
a
bolt
of
lightning
struck
and
split
the
tree.
The
owlet
was
flung
from
his
nest
and
would
have
surely
died
had
it
not
been
for
a
mouse
huddled
down
in
a
hole
who
rescued
the
baby
bird.
So
began
the
life of a saw-whet owl who grew up thinking he was a mouse.

It
was

summer

excited

everything.

spends
her
days

with

binoculars.
